The Photographer

This has been quite a journey spanning over a decade long! Before becoming a Chicago maternity, newborn, and child photographer I was primarily photographing headshots for area talent. It wasn’t long before I realized how much joy and fulfillment I felt when photographing more artistically.

When I went through my own pregnancy, I was in awe of how my body changed and beautified in its own ways and soon began photographing other bodies on the same journey. Within a few years, I was well on my way to building a niche of maternity, newborn, and child photography clients.

I believe that we must create to live fully. I can not imagine keeping photography to myself, when I see how happy others become when viewing their images. As a mother, I understand the importance of holding onto the freckles and smiles of my own son as he grows each day. As a professional photographer, I understand how to make that happen.

My nine-year-old son fills my heart and surprises me every day. My tiny dog and cat keep my lap warm during late nights of editing. When I am not photographing or with my son, I can often be found in the Chicago poetry scene, sharing my heart from stages all around the city.

In the past several years, I have noticed a trend in over-processed images that all seem to be about props more than babies. There is a need for photographers to stand out with their own style backed by technical knowledge. My aim is to be that photographer for you.

I am grateful for every single person who has allowed me into their personal space in order to create work that they will cherish for a lifetime. I have so many to thank for their trust and support!

If you are interested in connecting, I'd love to hear from you!
