Where do you shoot?
I am based out of Chicago, and I also travel to surrounding suburbs as well as nationwide. From January through April of 2012, I will be available for on-location sessions, meaning your home, outdoor sessions, hotels, etc. Chicagoland is a beautiful backdrop, and I have the confidence to be able to make almost any location work well, including smaller spaces. This also helps to make the images extra-personal.
Do you only shoot maternity portraits?
As I am primarily a maternity photographer, I also do shoot a limited number of newborn, baby, child, and family portraits for clients. I am also constantly working on photography projects and my personal portfolio to keep my creativity and skills fresh.
Are all of the images included in the price?
The Heirloom Collection includes all of the digital files. A half and full session DVD may be purchased à la carte as well.
What products do you offer?
I have a vast array of quality, custom products for you, including prints, coffee table books, announcement cards, albums, digital negatives, canvas gallery wraps, and more.
How soon should I reserve my maternity session? When will we shoot?
I know you're excited! Go ahead and call me once you are in your second trimester. Every woman is different as is every pregnancy, but a generally great time to shoot is within the 7th or 8th month. This way, you are definitely showing but not as uncomfortable moving around as you will be at the very end of your pregnancy.
How long will my session last?
Typically, sessions last between 45 minutes for a maternity session or up to two hours for family or child sessions. Newborn sessions last the longest, generally between two and three hours, because time is needed for feedings, cuddling, etc.
Do you only shoot in black in white? Do you also shoot or show color images?
While I have a high fondness for black and white photography (and that is what is mainly shown on this website), I do shoot and proof some color images as well.
What do I need to provide for the shoot? Do you have the draping material and backdrops?
No worries- I have it all! I have several drapings that I provide for the shoot, and I will bring any backdrops needed. We will talk beforehand so that I have an idea of the space I'll be shooting in and how much to bring.
